Hourly car service in Boston: keep the car, change the plan
Book a block of hours, keep the same vehicle and chauffeur for all of it, and add stops as the evening or the day unfolds. The chauffeur waits at every stop.
Book OnlineBlocks are booked in the same online system as every other Alve ride. These cards describe the blocks; the booking happens on the next page.
How hourly car service works
Before the ride
- Choose a block and a start time.
- Give a pickup address and, if you know them, the first stops.
- Choose a vehicle class: sedan for two, SUV for up to five, van for up to fourteen.
- You get a confirmation with the chauffeur's name.
During the block
- The chauffeur waits at every stop; nothing has to be rebooked.
- Add a stop or change the order by telling the chauffeur.
- Need longer? Ask the chauffeur; extensions depend on the day's availability.
- The block ends where you say it ends.
When hourly is the right booking
Evening out
Dinner, a show, a last drink. One car for the whole night, waiting outside each one.
Shopping and errands
Newbury Street to Copley to Chestnut Hill with the bags staying in the car.
Event day
A game, a concert, a gala: drop at the door, the car holds through the event, no ride-share scramble after.
City day with a driver
Boston and Cambridge at your own pace, with a chauffeur who knows where to stop and where to wait.
Appointments day
Back-to-back appointments across town without parking or waiting for a new car each time.
Hourly or a transfer?
A transfer is one pickup and one drop: the airport run, the ride to the wedding. It is the right booking when you know exactly where you are going and when.
Hourly is for everything with a middle: more than two stops, an end time you do not know yet, or bags and coats you would rather leave in the car. If you would otherwise book three separate rides, book one block instead.

Yes. One vehicle and one chauffeur from pickup until the block ends, waiting at every stop in between.
Yes. Tell the chauffeur and the plan changes; there is nothing to rebook.
Ask the chauffeur during the block. Extensions depend on that day's availability, so booking the longer block up front is the safer choice.
